How my design business started

Starting my graphic design business has been a natural extension of my lifelong passion for design. From decorating our first home to flipping furniture for a profit, I've always had a knack for transforming spaces and items into something beautiful and functional. My skills were further honed during my time in finance, where I became the go-to person for creating visually appealing presentations - or as I like to say ‘making things pretty’.

Running a custom planner business for several years also taught me the importance of blending aesthetics with practicality. Each of these experiences has contributed to my ability to quickly and effectively improve designs, helping small business owners focus on what matters most.

At P&W Designs LLC, I am dedicated to assisting women in calming the chaos through thoughtful design work and efficient systems. Being equally adept at creative and analytical tasks, I can see both the big picture and the finer details in your business. Whether it's developing templates or crafting a complete visual identity, I aim to create solutions that make your business run smoothly and look stunning.

Balancing a full-time job in retirement consulting with my role as a mom, I understand the challenges of juggling multiple responsibilities. My husband, Matt, our daughter, Dani, and our dog, Harley, provide a supportive home base 30 minutes west of Minneapolis, MN. This personal experience fuels my desire to help others find balance and efficiency in their lives and businesses.

Ever have something that just fuels your soul? That is what design work feels like to me. The world fades away and it is just me and my apple pencil. Hours can pass and I wouldn’t be able to tell you. It can be a full logo suite or it can be as something as simple as helping a small business owner create better Pinterest templates. Whatever the work is, the gratitude I see from my clients and the calmness I feel when I design makes it all worth while.

I love a good line drawing

A lot of people have come to me specifically for my love of line drawings! You will see it in my logo as well as in others because it creates a fun, yet custom look to your brand that’s hard to replicate!

I know the importance of templates

Some designers will want to keep all their secrets to themselves but not me. Social media templates, web design templates (like my site!), Pinterest templates etc. are frequent in my business so that you can replicate fast and effectively.

I am not an expert (yet)
