It’s Julie here, the owner of PW Planners and I want to talk about something that has been a game-changer for me: Boundaries. Yes, you heard me right. Boundaries have been the key to breaking my Enneagram 3, hustle nature and allowing me to create a life that aligns with my vision, values and well-being. From the outside it might look like “I don’t know how you do it all” but from the inside. I lead a life I’ve created and love. I get time for me, for my family, for my passions, and for the relationships that are important and that all starts with knowing what I want and creating boundaries that align.
Let’s dive into some of the boundaries that have helped me stay grounded and focused:

Do you ever find yourself doing things that don’t align with your vision or leave you feeling unfulfilled? I sure have. That’s why I make it a point to evaluate my actions and draw a line when something doesn’t align with my vision for my life. This includes everything from the organizations I volunteer for to the way I spend my free time. It may sound selfish, but I firmly believe that if you’re not clear on your vision, you can’t take action to create the life you truly want.

As an entrepreneur, it can be tempting to work all hours of the day. As a momma, full time working mom AND side hustler, that pressure becomes even MORE. But here’s the thing…. This year I have already read 10 books, taken countless bubble baths and walks and I don’t even WANT to admit how much time I have spent on the phone talking to my bestie. Time expands when we need it to but I’ve set that I don’t owe my life to my career. I take responsibility for setting boundaries around my work hours because your job WILL NOT, I speak up when I’m feeling burnt out, and I say no when something doesn’t align with my personal vision. By doing so, I’ve been able to reduce my average work week from 50-55+ hours a week to the ‘normal’ 40-45 hours while still delivering exceptional results at work.

I’ve come to realize that my physical health and well-being are essential to my success in all areas of my life. That’s why I commit to working out intentionally five days a week, averaging 7.5k – 10k steps a day, while learning how to fuel my body and work within my feminine cycle. By creating healthy routines and habits, I feel vibrant and capable of taking on whatever life throws at me.

Finally, I’ve learned that the people I surround myself with have a significant impact on my energy levels. That’s why I no longer allow people in my life who drain my energy. Instead, I choose to surround myself with individuals who uplift, support, and inspire me. Remember, you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.
Boundaries are essential to creating a life that aligns with your vision, values, and well-being. I encourage you to take the time to evaluate your boundaries and make adjustments where necessary. Your future self will thank you.
