Entrepreneurship can feel lonely—especially when you’re building something from the ground up while balancing motherhood, work, and life.
In this week’s episode of the Being Better Everyday Podcast, I sat down with Natalie Bernacchi and Emily Collins, the powerhouse duo behind The CEO Besties, to talk about what it really looks like to grow a business alongside other ambitious women.
We covered everything from what a business mastermind group actually is, to how mindset coaching changes the way we approach business and life.
If you’ve ever wondered what a business mastermind group actually does, you’re not alone. As Natalie explained, “It’s for women who want to go faster, farther, in community.”
A mastermind isn’t just another course or networking event—it’s a space where women gather to collaborate, brainstorm, and push each other forward. Each month, members focus on themes like planning, strategy, and vision while getting real-time support from fellow entrepreneurs.
Emily described it best: “You’re really learning from a group of 16 or 32 women, all with different expertise. That momentum stacks—and you just keep thinking bigger.”
Unlike traditional group coaching, masterminds are about collective energy. It’s not one person teaching—it’s everyone contributing their experiences, insights, and wins.
Both Natalie and Emily agree that business strategy only works when it’s backed by the right mindset.
Natalie shared, “You can have all the strategy in the world, but if you don’t have the mindset, you’re not going to succeed in your business.”
They’ve both lived it—leaving behind corporate jobs, navigating motherhood, and learning to trust themselves as business owners. For Natalie, it meant making intentional financial sacrifices to go all in on her dream. For Emily, it meant leaning into freedom and flexibility after years in corporate finance.
What stood out most was how mindset coaching isn’t just about staying positive—it’s about rewiring how you think about risk, success, and self-belief.
As Emily put it, “You can’t do it all—or be an expert in everything. Hiring the right people to help you in your business is really important. It’s an investment in yourself.”
Building a business can often feel like doing it all alone—but you don’t have to. “The women just love each other,” Natalie said about their in-person mastermind meetups. “We can’t stop talking!”
That community aspect is what makes the CEO Besties mastermind so powerful. Members not only share strategy and advice, but they also celebrate each other’s wins.
Emily explained, “Just knowing I’m going in the group and saying, ‘I did this hard thing’—that creates so much momentum to keep going.”
It’s about accountability, encouragement, and connection—three things every entrepreneur needs to thrive.
When you’re growing a new business, your mindset determines everything.
Natalie reflected on her own journey: “I looked back at my corporate career and realized it was actually grooming me for this—learning grit, wearing a thousand hats, figuring out how to build. That scrappiness made me ready for entrepreneurship.”
Both women emphasize that success doesn’t happen overnight, it’s built through consistency, vision, and a willingness to pivot. Emily added, “You have to enjoy the journey. You can be so focused on the end goal that you forget why you started.”
That’s the heart of the startup mindset – progress over perfection, and a deep belief that you’re building something that matters.
Here are a few of my favorite takeaways from this conversation:
A mastermind is collaborative. Everyone contributes ideas, feedback, and support. Group coaching is typically led by one expert teaching a set curriculum.
Not at all. Masterminds are powerful for beginners and seasoned founders alike—the mix of perspectives is what makes them thrive.
Mindset coaching helps you recognize fear, reframe challenges, and build resilience—so you can take bold action without letting self-doubt stop you.
Talking with Natalie and Emily reminded me why I do what I do at P&W Designs—helping women build brands and websites that actually work.
The best businesses aren’t built in isolation. They’re built in community, with strategy, intention, and mindset that supports every decision.
Because when women come together to build aligned, purpose-driven businesses? We all rise.
